Citizen TV sports anchor and reporter Immanuel Ndungu has narrated a frightening encounter with suspected robbers that nearly left him without his phone.
The journalist, who has been steadily building a strong online following thanks to his engaging social media content and distinctive English accent, shared details of the ordeal in a short video clip posted online.
According to Ndungu, the incident occurred while he was walking along a road and recording content for his followers, unaware that danger was approaching from behind.
“Flipping hell, I almost just got robbed. I was on this nice road recording a video for you lot, yeah. Had my phone out like this, I hear a bother coming up behind me, I don’t think much of it,” he recounted.
Moments later, the situation took a dangerous turn when a pillion passenger on a motorcycle allegedly attempted to snatch his phone.
“This guy tries to snatch my phone, it ends up flying across the road. So now it’s a race between me and the man on the back of a motorbike to get to the phone. Luckily, I got to the phone first, I picked it up off the road,” he said.

Ndungu revealed that after retrieving his phone, he confronted the suspected thief, but the confrontation quickly escalated into a threatening situation.
“Then I was like to him, what are you doing man? This guy looked at me in the eyes, started reaching for his waist. I was like, yeah, you know what? I can run. I’m just dashing, bro,” he narrated.
Fearing for his safety, the journalist said he chose to flee immediately, triggering a chase that involved both the motorcycle rider and the accomplice on foot.
“I dash so fast. This guy started chasing me, one guy on foot, one guy on the motorbike. I just dashed down this way, bruv. What is going on?” he added.

Ndungu later showed scratch marks on his hand sustained during the scuffle and expressed shock over the incident, noting that it occurred outside Nairobi, a city often associated with such crimes.
“Look at this. This is where he tried to snatch me, man. I need to wash my hands ASAP. Flipping hell, I’m not even in Nairobi, man. Oh my days,” he said in the clip.
The incident has since sparked concern among his followers, with many expressing relief after escaping unharmed.
