KUCCPS Opens 2026 University and College Placement Application Portal

The Kenya Universities and Colleges Central Placement Service (KUCCPS) has opened applications for placement to universities, Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) institutions and teacher training colleges.

Education Cabinet Secretary Julius Ogamba made the announcement on Tuesday, April 7 after a meeting with KUCCPS officials led by CEO Agnes Wahome.

Ogamba asked the 2025 Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education (KCSE) candidates to apply for their preferred courses through the official KUCCPS portal: kuccps.net/login

“The placement cycle has officially opened today, with the KUCCPS placement portal remaining open until 6th May, 2026,” the Ministry of Education confirmed.

In a statement issued on Friday, March 13, 2026, KUCCPS invited Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education (KCSE) candidates and Form Four leavers from previous years to submit applications for available programmes.

“KUCCPS invites Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education (KCSE) candidates and Form Four leavers from previous years to apply for placement to universities and TVET institutions,” the statement read in part.

KUCCPS noted that Diploma Teacher Training College (TTC) programmes are also available for eligible applicants.

The placement agency said the application window opened on March 28 and will close on April 30.

To assist candidates during the application process, KUCCPS has deployed officers at 63 universities and colleges, its offices and all 58 Huduma Centres across the country.

Students applying for degree programmes must have attained a minimum KCSE mean grade of C+, while diploma courses require a minimum grade of C-. Craft certificate programmes require a mean grade of D, while artisan courses require a minimum grade of E.

How to Apply

Applications must be submitted online through the KUCCPS student portal.

Candidates can access the portal through the KUCCPS website and log in using their KCSE index number, year of examination, and password as indicated on the login page.

Applicants are required to select their preferred programmes and institutions before submitting the application.

Application Procedure

Once logged in, applicants can download programme lists showing available degree courses, universities offering them, subject requirements, and previous cut-off points.

Candidates are advised to compare their cluster weights with previous cut-off points when selecting programmes to improve their chances of securing placement.

Applicants should then enter the programme codes of their selected courses in order of preference before submitting the application through the portal.

After submission, candidates will be required to pay a non-refundable application fee of KSh1,500 through the eCitizen platform using available payment options, including M-PESA.

KUCCPS said applicants will receive a confirmation message once the application has been successfully submitted.
