The Kenya Meteorological Department (KMD) has listed six regions expected to experience rainfall over the weekend. In its five-day forecast for the period between April 11 and April 15, 2026, published on Friday, April 10, Kenya Met indicated that rainfall is expected in parts of the Highlands East and West of the Rift Valley, the South Rift Valley, the Southeastern Lowlands, the Coast, and Northeastern Kenya.
Rainfall is also expected to continue in some of these regions throughout the five-day forecast period.
According to Kenya Met, regions in the Highlands West of the Rift Valley, the Lake Victoria Basin, and the Rift Valley are likely to experience morning rains in a few places, except on Tuesday, April 14, when sunny intervals are expected.

Afternoons in these regions will mostly be characterised by showers and thunderstorms, while nights will experience showers in a few areas.
Areas in these regions include Siaya, Kisumu, Homa Bay, Migori, Kisii, Nyamira, Trans Nzoia, Baringo, Uasin Gishu, Elgeyo Marakwet, Nandi, Nakuru, Narok, Kericho, Bomet, Kakamega, Vihiga, Bungoma, Busia, and West Pokot counties.
In the northwestern region, which includes Turkana and Samburu counties, sunny intervals are expected to dominate mornings throughout the forecast period. Afternoons will also remain sunny, while nights will be mostly partly cloudy, except on Saturday, April 11, when a few places may experience showers.
In the Highlands East of the Rift Valley, including Nairobi and its environs, mornings are likely to experience light rains in a few places. Afternoons and nights will mostly have showers in some areas.
Other counties in this region include Nyandarua, Laikipia, Nyeri, Kirinyaga, Murang’a, Kiambu, Meru, Embu, Tharaka Nithi, and Nairobi.

For the northeastern region, which includes Marsabit, Mandera, Wajir, Garissa, and Isiolo counties, mornings are expected to have rain in a few places. Afternoons will experience showers in some areas, while nights will be mostly partly cloudy.
In the Southeastern lowlands, which comprises Kitui, Makueni, Machakos, Kajiado, and Taita Taveta counties, as well as inland parts of Tana River County, mornings will have rains in a few places, except on Saturday, April 11, and Sunday, April 12, when sunny intervals are expected. Afternoons will experience a chance of showers in a few areas, while nights will also have showers in some places.
In the Coast region, which includes Mombasa, Kilifi, Lamu, and Kwale counties, as well as the Tana Delta, mornings and afternoons are expected to experience a chance of showers in a few places. Nights will be mostly partly cloudy, except on Saturday, April 11, and Monday, April 13, when a few areas are likely to receive showers.
