A section of youth activists in Nairobi on Tuesday held a peaceful demonstration in support of Interior Principal Secretary Raymond Omollo, dismissing allegations linking him to the recent assault on Godfrey Osotsi.
The demonstrators, who gathered in the city Centre, chanted slogans in defense of Omollo and accused some political leaders of making unverified claims about his involvement in the incident.
“Omollo did not attack the senator; these politicians are just lying,” one protester said during the demonstration.
Another stated, “We are defending Omollo because he teaches us peace, not violence.”
Police officers were present at the scene, and the protest proceeded without disruption.

Unknown assailants attacked Senator Osotsi at a café in Kisumu on April 7, leading to the demonstration.
The attack, which was captured on CCTV footage, left the legislator with facial injuries.
He later received treatment at a Nairobi hospital.
In a public statement after the incident, Osotsi alleged that the attack was politically motivated and linked it to Omollo.
The claims were supported by James Orengo, who described the incident as a serious concern.
Authorities have since arrested three suspects in connection with the attack.
The suspects have been charged with robbery and are awaiting trial in a Kisumu court.
