Sameer Africa PLC has appointed Sylviah Mwikali as its new Company Secretary, following the resignation of Millicent Ngetich.
In a notice issued on Tuesday, April 14, 2026, the company said the appointment takes effect immediately and applies to both the parent company and its subsidiaries.
The announcement was made in line with the provisions of the Capital Markets Act and its regulations, confirming that Mwikali will take over the role after Ngetich stepped down from the position.
“The Board of Directors wishes to announce the appointment of Ms. Sylviah Mwikali as Company Secretary of the Company and its subsidiaries with effect from April 14, 2026, following the resignation of Ms. Millicent Ngetich,” the notice read.
The Board expressed its appreciation to Ngetich for her service, wishing her success in her future endeavours.
Mwikali brings over eight years of experience in corporate governance and company secretarial practice, having supported boards, committees, and executive management in regulated and complex business environments.
Her expertise spans board advisory, regulatory compliance, stakeholder engagement, and governance administration.

She is a Certified Secretary, an Accredited Governance Auditor, and a Certified Public Accountant (CPA), and is a member of the Institute of Certified Public Accountants of Kenya (ICPAK). Mwikali also holds a First Class Honours degree in Accounting and Finance from KCA University.
Throughout her career, she has managed governance frameworks for both listed and private entities, ensuring compliance with evolving regulatory requirements while strengthening internal controls and risk management systems.

Her background in accounting and auditing further enhances her ability to assess governance effectiveness and support sound decision-making at the board level.
According to the Board, Mwikali has handled various company secretarial assignments with notable professionalism, integrity, and diligence, qualities the firm believes will strengthen its governance structures.
“The Directors are confident that Sameer Africa PLC will benefit significantly from her expertise and commitment,” the company stated.
The Board also congratulated Mwikali on her appointment, expressing optimism about her contribution to the company’s future operations.
Sameer Africa PLC is a Kenyan public company listed on the Nairobi Securities Exchange, historically known for tyre manufacturing but now primarily focused on property investment, leasing, and distribution.
It plays a role in Kenya’s economy by supporting logistics and industrial growth through warehousing, while maintaining a presence in the tyre market.
