President William Ruto has announced a series of state appointments and reappointments across government institutions, according to a gazette notice dated April 18, 2026.
In the notice, the President reappointed Godfrey Lemiso as Non-Executive Chairperson of the Rural Electrification and Renewable Energy Corporation, with the term taking effect on April 20, 2026.
“In exercise of the powers conferred by section 45 (1) (a) of the Energy Act, I, William Samoei Ruto, President of the Republic of Kenya and Commander-in-Chief of the Defence Forces, re-appoint Godfrey Lemiso as the Non-Executive Chairperson of the Rural Electrification and Renewable Energy Corporation, with effect from the 20th April, 2026,” read part of the gazette notice.
Other reappointments include Samuel Sakita Kutata as chairperson of the Ewaso Ng’iro South River Basin Development Authority, Richard Cheruiyot at the Export Processing Zones Authority, and Adan Mohammed at the Kenya Leather Development Council. All three will serve three-year terms.

Several Cabinet Secretaries also made appointments within their ministries.
National Treasury and Economic Planning Cabinet Secretary John Mbadi reappointed Dr. Edward N. Kobuthi, Irene Njeri Wanyoike, Celine Anyango Orata, David J. O. Nyakang’o and Amb. Wellington Pakia Godo as members of the Privatisation Commission for two years.
He also appointed Frank Mwiti, FCPA Risper Olick, Quresha Abdullahi, FCS Joshua Wambua and Lawrence Kibet to a search and selection panel for the recruitment of independent directors in government-owned enterprises.
Labour and Social Protection Cabinet Secretary Alfred Mutua reappointed Isaac Kaberia and Dr. Milkah Kimonda as trustees of the National Social Security Fund for three years.
At the Ministry of East African Community, ASALs and Regional Development, Cabinet Secretary Beatrice Askul Moe reappointed Caroline Pulei, Eunice Singoei, Mathew Gathua, Elijah Kesei Metian, Veronica Silantoi Mwangi, William Kenteyia and Silas Otieno Ojienda Victors to the Ewaso Ng’iro South River Basin Development Authority board for three-year terms.

Investments, Trade and Industry Cabinet Secretary Lee Kinyanjui reappointed Florence John and Regina Ngima Muthami among five members of the Kenya Leather Development Council board and appointed Rev. Kenneth Maina Wanjiru as a new member. All will serve for three years.
Lands Cabinet Secretary Alice Wahome reappointed Dr. Victor O. Olonde and appointed Rashid Haron Shake to the Valuers Registration Board for three-year terms.
Public Service Cabinet Secretary Geoffrey Ruku appointed Dr. Eldah Onsomu to the Kenya School of Government Council for three years.
In the education sector, Cabinet Secretary Julius Ogamba reappointed and appointed members to the councils of several national polytechnics for three-year terms.
At Kitale National Polytechnic, Dr. Bishop Paul K. Korir was reappointed chairperson alongside four members. Anthony Njagi Getambu was reappointed chairperson of Meru National Polytechnic with two members.
Dr. Patricia Mwaka Mbogoh was reappointed chairperson of Kenya Coast National Polytechnic with five members, while David Kanyoi Gachuru will chair Nyeri National Polytechnic. Two members at Nyeri were reappointed, and Edina Nyaboke Kangwana was appointed as a new member.
