A phone call between a Kenyan woman identified as Becky and her ex-boyfriend, saved in her phone under “Ex Omondi,” has since gone viral after their argument over money elicited varying comments on social media.
The details shared in the trending clip revealed Becky called Omondi to seek a hand after clearing her house rent and found herself at a short disadvantage of Ksh 4,000.
According to the clip, Becky asked her former boyfriend to bridge the gap to cover her immediate need.
In the clip, Omondi told her to seek assistance from her Member of Parliament (MP) through the Constituency Development Fund (CDF) bursary programme instead of asking him for money.
He seemed irritated by the call and questioned why he was being remembered in moments she needed him.
“Do not bring me your problems; I do not even know who I am speaking to.” Omondi Said.
This got many users laughing and commenting on social media, with some opining that he was fed up with being remembered only when she needed a loan.
However, Becky immediately challenged his statement when he claimed not to know her.
“Don’t you know me? or did you delete my number?” she is heard to ask as she seemingly could not believe that he could not know her yet had her number.
The clip has since gone viral, and many were asking if ex-partners should be helping each other in terms of cash, even after breaking up.

Some users said that ex-lovers do not have an obligation to help each other when they break up, while others sympathize with the woman, saying she should not be mocked for asking temporary help from someone she knew better.
The Debate is still ongoing as Facebook users are raising questions if ex-partners should provide or request assistance from one another after a relationship ends.
