The Kenya National Examinations Council (KNEC) has invited applications from qualified college tutors for training as examiners to mark Teacher Education assessments and assess practicum across various diploma programmes.

In a notice dated February 17, 2026, KNEC said the training will be conducted in April 2026 through a blended model combining online sessions and residential training.

“The Kenya National Examinations Council (KNEC) will train college tutors for marking of Teacher Education assessments and assessment of practicum in April 2026,” the notice stated.

According to the Council, access to online training materials, as well as details on dates and venues for residential sessions, will be communicated to shortlisted applicants at a later date. Successful trainees will subsequently be engaged as examiners based on KNEC’s recruitment criteria and staffing needs for each paper.

KNEC clarified that tutors who are already trained as DSTE, DPTE or DECTE assessors and are listed in its database of examiners are not required to apply.

“Tutors who are already trained as DSTE, DPTE or DECTE assessors and are in the KNEC database of examiners need not apply,” said KNEC.
