IEBC Announces 12,520 Job Opportunities – How to Apply

The Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC) has announced 12,520 temporary job opportunities to support the upcoming 30-day Enhanced Continuous Voter Registration (ECVR) exercise across the country.

In a notice dated Wednesday, February 25, 2026, the Commission said the positions will facilitate voter registration at the ward level, aiming to strengthen the ongoing Continuous Voter Registration (CVR) programme at constituency offices nationwide.

“The Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC) will undertake a thirty (30)-day Enhanced Continuous Voter Registration (ECVR) exercise at the ward level,” the notice read.

To ensure smooth implementation, IEBC invited applications from suitably qualified candidates to fill temporary positions for the duration of the exercise.

Available Positions, Roles, and Requirements as Advertised by IEBC

1.Voter Registration Assistants (1,450 positions)
Roles:

  • Supervise voter registration clerks at the ward level.
  • Coordinate and publicize voter registration activities.
  • Distribute registration materials and equipment.
  • Collate and submit voter registration data to the Registration Officer.
  • Ensure the security of registration kits and materials.
  • Meet weekly registration targets and report progress to supervisors.

Requirements:

  • Kenyan citizen of high integrity and non-partisan.
  • Diploma in ICT or related IT field.
  • Effective communication and report-writing skills.

  • Resident in the ward and constituency of application.
  • Age 21 years and above; available for the full registration period.

2. Voter Registration Clerks (10,780 positions)
Roles:

  • Operate biometric voter registration kits (KIEMS/VIU tablets).
  • Verify applicants’ eligibility per electoral laws.
  • Assist applicants in filling out registration forms accurately.
  • Ensure safe custody of registration equipment and materials.
  • Transmit voter registration data daily.
  • Uphold IEBC’s code of conduct and confidentiality.

Requirements:

  • Kenyan citizens aged 19 years and above.
  • Minimum KCSE C- or equivalent.
  • Computer literacy and ICT skills.
  • A diploma in ICT, Statistics, Education, Business Administration, or related field is an advantage.
  • Demonstrated integrity, accountability, and confidentiality.

3. ICT Clerks (290 positions)
Roles:

  • Provide first-level ICT support to voter registration assistants and clerks.
  • Prepare, test, and configure biometric voter registration kits.
  • Troubleshoot hardware, network, and software issues.
  • Install, configure, and re-image new BVR kits as needed.
  • Ensure smooth ICT operations during the registration period.

Requirements:

  • A Kenyan citizen of high integrity and non-partisan.
  • Diploma in ICT or related field; ICT certifications (MCSE, CCNA) are an advantage.
  • At least 2 years of ICT support experience.

  • Hands-on experience with computer hardware and networks.
  • Effective communication and report-writing skills.
  • Resident in the constituency of application; age 21 years and above.
