SHA Announces Over 212 Job Vacancies: How to Apply

The Social Health Authority (SHA) has announced 212 job vacancies across various departments as part of its efforts to enhance service delivery under the new Social Health Insurance framework.

In a notice on October 28, the recruitment seeks “visionary, result-driven, and experienced professionals” to fill senior management and support positions.

The institution, established under the Social Health Insurance Act, 2023, aims to strengthen financial risk protection for Kenyan residents through equitable access to healthcare.

According to SHA, the Authority is responsible for administering the Social Health Insurance Fund, Primary Healthcare Fund, and Emergency, Chronic, and Critical Illness Fund in collaboration with stakeholders.

Positions and Opportunities Available

The advertisement lists 40 categories of positions, including both re-advertised and newly created roles.

Among the re-advertised jobs are Assistant Director, Claims Management, Assistant Director, Corporate Communication, and Principal Claims Management Officer.

Other advertised positions include Legal Officer I, Registration and Compliance Officer I, Finance & Accounts Officer II, Human Resource Management and Development Officer II, Internal Auditor II, and Customer Experience Officer II (Dispatch Centre).

The largest number of openings is for Office Administrator II and Driver II, with 54 and 53 positions respectively.

Application Procedure and Deadline

Applicants are required to meet the ethical standards outlined in Chapter Six of the Constitution of Kenya.

“Applicants must satisfy the requirements of Chapter Six… by submitting valid and current copies of clearance certificates,” the notice stated.

Candidates must provide documents from institutions, including the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI), Kenya Revenue Authority (KRA), Higher Education Loans Board (HELB), Ethics and Anti-Corruption Commission (EACC), and a Credit Reference Bureau (CRB).

Interested candidates are instructed to submit their applications online via https://recruitment.sha.go.ke or deliver them physically to the SHA building on Ragati Road, Nairobi.
