The National Youth Opportunities Towards Advancement (NYOTA) Project has announced the rollout of its Business Development Skills (BDS) Training across multiple counties in Kenya.
The training sessions, scheduled for 14th to 17th November 2025, mark a significant milestone in the project’s commitment to empower young entrepreneurs through practical business knowledge and financial support.
According to the NYOTA Secretariat, those who have been selected for the program will receive official SMS notifications specifying the venue and logistical details of their training.
The communication emphasizes that the training is not optional.
“Attendance of the BDS training is mandatory for all selected beneficiaries,” the statement read in part, adding that participation is a key qualification for the next stage, receiving business capital support under the NYOTA Project.

The BDS training sessions will take place in all major regions of the country, ensuring inclusivity and accessibility for young people from both urban and rural settings.
In Lower Eastern, the sessions will be conducted in Kitui, Machakos, and Makueni counties.
The North Rift region will include Uasin Gishu, Trans Nzoia, West Pokot, Turkana, Baringo, and Laikipia. Meanwhile, Upper Eastern will feature trainings in Meru, Tharaka Nithi, Embu, and Isiolo.
The South Rift and Maa regions will host sessions in Nakuru; Narok, Kajiado, and Nandi, while Nyanza and South Rift countiesSiaya, Kisumu, Homa Bay, Migori, Kisii, Nyamira, Kericho, and Bomet, will also participate in the upcoming program.

The NYOTA Project aims to strengthen the entrepreneurial ecosystem among youth by offering not just training, but also access to seed capital.
The mandatory BDS training will equip participants with essential business planning, financial management, and marketing skills to prepare them for successful enterprise management.
The project team reaffirmed their readiness for the exercise, declaring, “MKO ready,” signaling full preparedness for implementation.
The initiative continues to draw national attention as a practical step in addressing youth unemployment and boosting grassroots entrepreneurship across Kenya.
