A National Police Service (NPS) recruitment exercise turned tragic on Friday, January 23, 2026, morning, after a road accident claimed the life of a 20-year-old recruit and left more than 20 others injured. According to reports, the crash occurred at approximately 2:45 a.m. on the Marua–Chaka road, just a kilometer west of Kiganjo Police Station.
