Tanzania Opposition Leader Falls Seriously Sick in Police Custody

The Party for Democracy and Development (CHADEMA), Tanzania’s opposition party, has issued a public notice stating that its Vice Chairman, John Heche,  is seriously sick while in police custody. Heche is being detained at the Mtumba Police Station in Dodoma. According to the notice dated October 30, 2025, Heche’s condition has worsened while under detention,
