The High Court in Nakuru has issued a conservatory order stopping all public entities from hiring or paying private law firms for legal services. The ruling, issued by the Nakuru Law Court under case number HCCHRPET/E001/2026, targets the common practice of government departments outsourcing legal work despite having a robust internal staff of state-mandated lawyers.
Nakuru court has rejected a petition by the DCI to detain Lolgorian MCA Michael Seme and two co-accused for 21 days following deadly clashes in Transmara. Alongside Peter Kiplangat and Neke Siteti, a former MCA candidate, Seme was arrested in connection with violence that resulted in eight deaths and the displacement of over 200 families.
