Kenyatta University Announces Dates for Supplementary, Special Exams

Kenyatta University (KU) has announced the dates for supplementary and special examinations for Certificate, Diploma, Undergraduate and Postgraduate students in the academic year 2026/2027.

In a notice issued by the university dated September 8, 2026, the examinations will be administered from Monday, October 19 to Friday, October 23, 2026, for units attempted during the 2025/2026 academic year.

The announcement applies to students who are enrolled in regular, continuing studies, virtual and open learning programmes, and who have to sit for special and supplementary examinations.

KU has directed all students who are supposed to do those exams to complete the supplementary request form through the student’s portal.

Deadline For Applications

Additionally, applications for the examinations must be paid for and submitted by Friday, September 18, 2026, with a warning that eligible students should meet the deadline for their requests to be processed.

Further, students who are seeking clarification on the process were advised to seek guidance from their respective departments.

The university also encouraged students to obtain additional information through its official website or by contacting the Office of the Registrar.

On the same note, the university also urged students to verify their academic status through the students’ portal before submitting their applications to ensure they meet the eligibility requirements for special or supplementary examinations.

Students To Apply

Furthermore, the notice by the university provides a clear timeline for students who need to regularise their academic records through supplementary or special examinations before their assessment period begins in October.

Students who are pursuing certificate, diploma, undergraduate and postgraduate studies have therefore been urged to complete the application process within the given timeframe to avoid missing the opportunity to sit the examinations.

In addition, Kenyatta University said the Registrar remains available to provide further assistance through the university’s official communication channels for students who require additional information regarding the application process or examination arrangements
