Jaoko Oburu has criticised social media commentator Maverick Aoko after she claimed that a youth leader linked to his father, Oburu Odinga, had died.

Aoko made the claim in a social media post published on Tuesday evening, October 6, stating: “OBURU ODINGA YOUTH LEADER IS DEAD.”

The post quickly drew a response from Jaoko, who appeared to question the decision to publish the claim.

“This is very careless of you Maverick Aoko,” Jaoko said.

His response comes amid growing attention around reports concerning his father, Oburu Odinga.

Jaoko did not provide further details about the claims or identify the youth leader mentioned in Aoko’s post.

Oburu Odinga Reportedly Alive and Recovering

Journalist and social media user Abuga Makori has dismissed reports claiming that Oburu Odinga had died, saying the former Siaya senator is alive and recovering at Nairobi Hospital.

In a post published on Tuesday, October 6, Makori said he had spoken to one of Oburu’s close friends, who told him that the veteran politician was taking a walk within the hospital as he awaited discharge.

Makori said Oburu was expected to leave the hospital either on Wednesday or Thursday.

“I can tell you with a lot of confidence that Youth Leader Dr. Oburu Oginga is ALIVE and very strong,” Makori said.
