A close ally of Edwin Sifuna, Abbie Zuena, has addressed growing concerns within Linda Mwananchi amid reports that some principals could form separate political parties and use the movement as a coalition ahead of the 2027 General Election.

Zuena called for Linda Mwananchi to operate under one political party, arguing that its political future should reflect the collective decision of its principals and members.

Her remarks came in a statement issued on September 11, 2026, as speculation continued over whether the principals would pursue a single political party or back different parties while retaining Linda Mwananchi as a coalition.

“We have sacrificed our time, resources, finances, ideas and some have even put their lives on the line, because we believed in something bigger than tribe,” Zuena said.

Abbie Zuena Calls for One Linda Mwananchi Party, Endorses Sifuna

Against this backdrop, Zuena endorsed Edwin Sifuna and urged leaders to maintain the unity that brought Linda Mwananchi together instead of pursuing separate political vehicles.

“We want ONE Linda Mwananchi party. Non-negotiable. And our presidential flag bearer is H.E. Edwin Watenya Sifuna,” she said.

Reflecting on the movement’s origins, Zuena said its members came together around shared political beliefs rather than ethnic identities or individual party positions.

“We came together around IDEOLOGIES, VALUES AND PRINCIPLES,” she said.

At the same time, she warned against allowing individual leaders to determine the movement’s political direction without consulting the other principals and its wider membership.

“No leader should therefore make unilateral decisions about the future of this movement!!” she stated.

For Zuena, the people who contributed their time, finances, resources and ideas to the movement should have a role in deciding its political future.

She further argued that unity remains the movement’s main source of strength, urging its members to focus on a common political vision rather than individual leaders.

Party Faces Political Direction Debate

Meanwhile, the reported plans for separate political parties have intensified attention on how Linda Mwananchi will organize itself ahead of the 2027 elections.

While some reports point to the possibility of principals using different political parties and later operating under Linda Mwananchi as a coalition, Zuena’s position calls for a single party under the movement’s framework.

The debate comes as organizers prepare for the Linda Mwananchi X Space Bunge Edition on Friday, September 11, 2026, at 8:00 pm, under the theme “Shaping the Future, Politically.”

Organizers have listed Wilson as the host, JaphethOtieno1 as co-host and Muthoni as moderator, while Otwoma TheBrand, Abbie Zuena, Yvonne Kontoz and Adrian Oluoch will appear as guests.
