The National Transport and Safety Authority (NTSA) has announced death of Board Member, Richie Munyao.

The deceased served with NTSA Board of Directors from 2023 until his demise on November 21, 2025.

“On behalf of the Board and Management of the National Transport and Safety Authority, we extend our heartfelt condolences to the family of our beloved Board Member, Richie Munyao. Richie served with distinction on the NTSA Board of Directors from 2023 until his passing,” read the part notice.

What Will Make Richie be Remembered

According to NTSA, Munyao brought together exceptional intellect and a strong moral compass that enhanced both the Road Safety and Audit Committees.

He was calm, and his sharp insight that led to remarkable reforms in the board will be remembered.

“NTSA has lost its youngest Board Member, and the road safety community a remarkable emerging leader. His calm authority, sharp insight, and unwavering standards helped guide the Board through key reforms,” read part notice.

“Richie’s legacy lives on in every life saved because he cared deeply and consistently championed safer roads for all.”

Richie’s Life

He was born on November 16, 1987.

Richie had 3 children, who include Charlie Muoki Munyao, Michael Munyao, who works with Electrogen Technologies Ltd, and Evelyn Munyao, who works with Green and Gold Ltd.

His siblings are Phil Charge Munyao of Innovo and Natasha Ngina Munyao, who lives in Canada.

The deceased was the grandson of the late Mweka Munyao and Susan Ngina Munyao of Mitaboni and the late Philip Chege and Esther Gathoni Chege.

Family Report on Burial Arrangements

On November 25, 2025, family and friends will gather for prayers and funeral arrangements at Karura Community Chapel – off Limuru Road from 6:00 pm.

“A memorial service will be held on Thursday, 27th November, at 2.00 pm at the Karura Community Chapel, off Limuru Road,” confirmed NTSA.

The remains of Richie will leave the Lee Funeral Home on November 28th, 2025, at 6.30 am, followed thereafter by the final burial rites at the family home in Nanyuki.
