The Kenya National Examinations Council (KNEC) has issued a warning to Kenyans over rising cases of fraudsters promising to alter KCSE and KJSEA results for candidates ahead of the official release of the examinations.
In a statement released on Wednesday, December 3rd, 2025, Council urged candidates, parents, and the public to remain vigilant, noting that no individual or group has the ability to interfere with the marking or grading process.
“Beware of fraudsters purporting to be able to alter candidates’ scores during marking of the KCSE examination or KJSEA,” KNEC stated.
The Council emphasised that its systems are highly secure and structured to uphold the integrity of national examinations.
“Please note that all candidates’ answer scripts are anonymised to protect their identity and ensure integrity during marking,” the statement added.
KNEC further expressed concerns over misinformation spreading on social media platforms, warning that criminals are taking advantage of anxious parents and learners.
“Do not fall prey to fraudulent activities on social media. KAA CHONJO!” KNEC cautioned.

The Ministry of Education had confirmed that the Kenya Junior School Education Assessment (KJSEA) results will be made public on December 11, according to Principal Secretary for Basic Education, Julius Bitok.
“Our plan is that we release the results and do placements within one week. We expect the learners to get their letters before Christmas and report on January 12, 2026,” Bitok said, adding that the ministry had put in place all necessary measures to ensure a smooth process.
Thousands of candidates and parents are now preparing to access the results through various official platforms once KNEC activates them.
The Council is expected to open KNEC online portal where learners will log in using their unique Assessment Numbers.
The portal will provide a complete breakdown of each learner’s performance, and results can be downloaded or printed directly.
Schools will also receive compiled results on the same day, allowing learners to collect official slips and receive guidance from teachers, especially as they transition to Senior School under the Competency-Based Education (CBE) framework.
KNEC will activate its SMS short-code service, enabling parents and candidates to receive results instantly by sending the learner’s Assessment Number.
This option is particularly useful for those with limited internet access.
