“The required insurance cover for CHAN 2025 was procured by CAF, not myself, and was duly secured and maintained throughout the tournament,” he stated.
“Contrary to the malicious reports, FKF did not transfer or pay any money to any insurance company for CHAN competitions,” he further clarified.
Mohammed confirmed that all CHAN 2025 services were in accordance with the signed CAF Host Agreement. The federation emphasized that no financial loss occurred in the insurance arrangement.
He stated that the cover met all CAF requirements and protected players, officials, staff, and stakeholders.
“The insurance cover met all CAF requirements to protect players, officials, staff and stakeholders, in line with CAF’s clear and stringent standards, where insurance is a critical component,” he stated.

Meanwhile, Mohamed defended ongoing reforms at FKF.
He said the federation continues to restructure to strengthen governance and eliminate corruption.
Hussein stressed that FKF will not abandon reforms despite resistance and distractions.
In addition, Mohamed dismissed claims of a coordinated smear campaign targeting his leadership.
He said he remains aware of attempts to falsely link him to CHAN 2025 allegations. However, he insisted that such efforts will not derail reforms. He also said he remains open to cooperating with investigative agencies when required.

Furthermore, Mohammed clarified that the General Secretary or CEO serves as the accounting officer, while the president provides strategic leadership.
He also urged the media to verify information before publication. It warned that inaccurate reporting can mislead the public and weaken trust in football governance.
Finally, Mohammed said that it remains focused on developing football and improving Kenya’s competitiveness in international competitions. It also reaffirmed its commitment to ongoing reforms and institutional strengthening.
