KCA University (KCAU) continues to position itself as one of Kenya’s leading private universities, offering a wide range of academic and professional programmes tailored to market needs.

From business and technology to arts, education and social sciences, the institution has steadily expanded its portfolio to meet the evolving demands of students and employers across the country.

Founded in 1989 as the Kenya College of Accountancy, KCAU was established by the Institute of Certified Public Accountants of Kenya (ICPAK) to strengthen accountancy and financial management training.

Its creation followed a UK-based study which revealed that Kenya needed hundreds of additional qualified accountants annually, a gap the institution sought to address through quality training.

Over the years, the institution has grown from an initial enrolment of just 170 students to a vibrant university community serving more than 20,000 learners annually.

In 2007, KCA was granted a Letter of Interim Authority, paving the way for its transition into a fully-fledged university offering undergraduate, postgraduate and doctoral programmes.

KCA University currently sits under the leadership of Vice-Chancellor Prof. Isaiah Wakindiki.

Campuses and Strategic Locations

KCA University’s main campus is located along Thika Road in Ruaraka, Nairobi, a strategic location accessible from most parts of the capital.

In addition to the main campus, the university operates a town campus within Nairobi’s Central Business District, catering to working professionals and part-time learners.

Regionally, KCAU has established campuses in Kitengela and Kisumu (Western Campus), as well as satellite centres in Eldoret, Kericho, Githunguri and Amagoro.

These campuses extend access to higher education beyond Nairobi.
