East African Breweries PLC (EABL) has announced leadership changes, including the appointment of a new Chief Financial Officer.
In a notice dated Thursday, March 12, 2026, the Board of Directors announced the appointment of Justin Mollel as the Group Chief Financial Officer Designate.
Mollel will assume the role of CFO Designate on May 1, 2026, and will formally succeed the incumbent Chief Financial Officer on July 1, 2026.
“The Board of Directors of East African Breweries PLC (EABL) is pleased to announce the appointment of Mr. Justin Mollel as the Group Chief Financial Officer Designate,” read part of the notice.
Justin is a seasoned financial and business executive with over 15 years of experience in finance and leadership roles across both listed and non-listed entities.
According to EABL, he brings a broad skillset spanning strategy, business performance management, financial and statutory reporting, risk and change management, auditing, and regulatory matters. He has also been involved in turnaround initiatives and high-growth businesses operating in highly volatile and competitive environments

Mollel currently serves as the Finance Director at Diageo Ireland, where he has built a reputation for developing growth strategies, managing complex financial operations, and transforming processes to drive business success.
He previously served as Finance Director at Guinness Ghana and Serengeti Breweries Limited in Tanzania, where he played key roles in shaping both companies’ financial strategies and performance.
He holds a Master of Business Administration (MBA) and a Bachelor of Commerce degree in Accounting from the University of Dar es Salaam in Tanzania.
He is also a Certified Public Accountant and a registered member of the National Board of Accountants and Auditors (NBAA) of Tanzania.
Elsewhere, the EABL Board announced that Anne Joy Michira, currently the Marketing and Innovations Director for Diageo South, West, and Central Africa, will become the Group Marketing and Innovations Director at EABL.
Joy brings nearly 20 years of experience in the fast-moving consumer goods (FMCG) sector and has built a strong track record of delivering tangible value to businesses.
She has a deep understanding of African consumers and markets, having served in a wide range of roles across the industry.

She previously served as Marketing and Innovations Director at EABL, where she played a key role in growing the company’s mainstream spirits and beer segments.
The Board congratulated both Mollel and Joy on their appointments and wished them success in their new roles.
