Mystery in Kisii as ‘Virgin Mary’ Image Emerges on Kitchen Wall

A mysterious image resembling the Virgin Mary has drawn crowds to a homestead in Getare Emenwa village, Bobasi Constituency, Kisii County, sparking debate among residents and online users.

The image reportedly appeared on the wall of a kitchen belonging to a resident identified as Mary Onsombi.

Photos circulating on social media show a shadow-like figure on the mud wall, with some residents and Christian believers saying its shape resembles an image of the Virgin Mary, the mother of Jesus Christ.

The strange display has drawn hundreds of intrigued locals and evangelists to visit the family’s property, eager to see the spectacle for themselves.

Local leaders of the Catholic and Orthodox churches have also visited the house and verified the image.

Reactions on X

The incident has sparked mixed reactions on X, with some welcoming it as a divine sign.

One user, Bernadette Musyoka, commented, “Maria Mtakatifu Mama wa Mungu, utuombee.”

Others said they wanted to see it for themselves, with Calistus Manyonge writing, “I’ll have to go and see with my own two eyes.”

However, skeptics dismissed the claims.

Commentator MObul Farmer wrote, “This is ideology; the images of Mary are just made up. No one knows how she looked,” while user KD added, “This is how brainwashed people are by religion.”

@User Winfred Ruth questioned the identification, asking, “So, how did they know it was the Virgin Mary’s image, yet none of her photos were ever given?”

The Virgin Mary 

The Virgin Mary, also known as Mary, is a central figure in Christianity and is described in the New Testament as the mother of Jesus Christ.

According to the Gospel accounts of Matthew and Luke, Mary was a young Jewish woman from Nazareth who was chosen to give birth to Jesus. Christians believe she conceived Jesus through the work of the Holy Spirit.
