The Kenya National Highways Authority (KeNHA) has announced a partial night closure of a section of the A8/B10 Highway from JKIA Turn-off to the Elephant Roundabout to allow scheduled road maintenance works.
According to a public notice dated April 3, 2026, the closure will run from Friday, April 10, 2026, to Sunday, April 19, 2026. The affected section will close every night between 10:00 p.m. and 5:00 a.m. This schedule aims to reduce disruption during peak daytime hours.
“A section of A8/B10 Highway from JKIA Turn-off to JKIA Elephant Roundabout will be partially closed every night from Friday, April 10, 2026, to Sunday, April 19, 2026 between 10.00 pm and 5.00 am,” KeNHA stated.
The agency explained that the closure will support essential highway maintenance. Additionally, KeNHA outlined how it will manage traffic during the works.
“During this period, part of the carriageway shall be closed at a time to ensure minimal traffic disruption,” the notice read.
This approach allows vehicles to continue moving, though at a reduced capacity.

Motorists using the route, especially those heading to or from Jomo Kenyatta International Airport (JKIA), should plan their trips in advance.
KeNHA has urged drivers to follow the proposed traffic management plan. It has also called on road users to cooperate with police officers and traffic marshals who will guide traffic along the affected stretch.
Furthermore, the authority emphasized the importance of caution and patience during the closure period. Drivers should expect slight delays and adjust their schedules accordingly.

KeNHA has assured the public that normal traffic operations will resume immediately after the maintenance works conclude. The agency noted that the temporary inconvenience will lead to improved road conditions and enhanced safety for all users.
The A8/B10 Highway remains a vital transport corridor linking key areas around Nairobi. Therefore, while the closure may inconvenience some motorists, the planned upgrades will ultimately improve traffic flow and road safety.
