The Kenya Institute of Management (KIM) has responded to a public notice issued by the Technical and Vocational Education and Training Authority (TVETA).

The public notice announced the revocation of its accreditation and the immediate closure of its campuses nationwide.

In a statement released on April 20, 2026, KIM acknowledged the notice and said it is treating the matter with the seriousness it deserves.

The institute confirmed it is reviewing the contents of the notice and actively engaging relevant regulatory authorities to address the issues raised and determine the appropriate legal course of action.

KIM urged students, alumni, partners, and the general public to remain calm and rely on official communication channels for accurate updates.

Established in 1954, the institute noted its 72-year history in advancing management practices and professional development in Kenya, emphasizing its commitment to professionalism, integrity, and transparency.

In its public notice, TVETA stated that KIM had been offering and awarding academic and professional programmes without proper accreditation.

The authority said KIM was initially accredited to offer programmes assessed and certified by TVET-CDACC but had continued to operate outside this mandate.

TVETA cited violations of the TVET Act Cap 210A, including offering unapproved programmes and awarding academic qualifications in contravention of Section 17(3).

They also added on engaging trainers without valid licenses as required under Section 23(1).
