An American citizen was tortured and had over Ksh 350,000 stolen from them in a pre-dawn raid at an apartment in Nyali, Mombasa.
The incident occurred while he was asleep around 3 am, after the victim had checked into the apartment for the night.
According to the police, 6 men forcibly entered the room and tortured the American for several hours, stealing their cash, electronic items, and personal property.
Among the items stolen were cash in various currencies, including Kenyan Shillings, American dollars, and Euros, along with a Samsung Galaxy cell phone and a laptop.
It is believed that some of the stolen cash was withdrawn by one of the suspects using one of the victim’s debit cards, after they used the card to make a withdrawal of some cash from an ATM in Nyali.
