According to a notice issued on July 17, 2026, KeNHA said motorists using the Emali-Isineti Road should expect a partial closure as the authority carries out construction works to improve drainage along the highway.
“The Kenya National Highways Authority (KeNHA) wishes to notify the public that a section of the Emali – Isineti (A5) Road, in the vicinity of Simba Cement, will be partially closed to traffic from Friday, 24th July to Thursday, 13th August to facilitate the installation of a drainage structure (culvert) across the carriageway at an existing natural channel,” the authority stated.
During the closure period, motorists will use a temporary diversion measuring approximately 100 metres alongside the affected section. KeNHA said traffic will move through the diversion on an alternating single-lane basis.
