The Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) has issued a clarification that it has re-arrested Collins Jumaisi Khalusha, the prime suspect in the grisly Kware murders, who escaped from Gigiri Police Station in August 2024.

In a statement on October 22, DCI said its attention has been drawn to information circulating online regarding the re-arrest of Collins Jumaisi.

DCI has dismissed reports that it has re-arrested Collins Jumaisi and urged the public to ignore the rumors on social media.

The Investigative Agency explained that Jumaisi is still missing and appreciated Kenyans for their support with the investigations.

“We wish to clarify that the information about his re-arrest is false, and Collins Jumaisi remains at large. We extend our heartfelt gratitude to the members of the public for their invaluable support and cooperation in this ongoing search for Jumaisi. Your willingness to share information and assist in the effort is greatly appreciated,” DCI said.

The DCI continued to appeal to members of the public with information about Jumaisi’s whereabouts to share with them through our toll-free number, 0800722203, or WhatsApp number, 0709570000.

A cash reward of Ksh1 million will be offered for information leading to his arrest.

The DCI said it remains unwavering in its commitment to apprehending Collins Jumaisi and holding him accountable for the horrific crimes he has committed.

“This dedication aims to bring justice not only to the victims but also to their families, ensuring that they receive the closure they deserve,” DCI added.

Jumaisi was among the 13 inmates who escaped from Gigiri Police Station.
