Three Public Universities Announce Mass Vacancies — How to Apply

Taita Taveta University (TTU), South Eastern Kenya University (SEKU) and Bomet University have advertised multiple job vacancies in academic and administrative roles.
Applicants are advised to submit their applications before the end of September.
TTU is recruiting for over 21 vacancies in the Schools of Agriculture, Earth and Environmental Sciences, Science and Informatics, Education, Mines and Engineering; Business, Economics and Social Sciences; and the Directorate of Administration.
The positions include:
- Professor.
- Associate Professor.
- Senior Lecturer and Lecturer.
- Tutorial Fellow.
- Technologist and Administrative Assistant II.
Among the lecturers to be advertised are Professor in Agriculture, Zoology, Associate Professor in Computer Science, Cyber Security and Educational Administration.
TTU has also announced three Tutorial Fellow positions in Comparative and International Education, Philosophy of Education and Educational Psychology.
The board said the Tutorial Fellows will be contractually appointed on three-year renewable contracts, with a view to completing their PhD within the contract period.
“The term of service for the position shall be on permanent and pensionable terms. However, the term of service for the position of the tutorial fellow shall be on a three-year contract and renewable once.” The board noted
Candidates for TTU should forward a soft copy of their application to dvc-afp@ttu.ac.ke and a hard copy to the Deputy Vice Chancellor (Administration, Finance and Planning), Taita Taveta University, P.O. Box 635-00300, Voi.
The university has set September 28, 2026, as the deadline for applications and directed applicants to indicate the reference number on both the application letter and the envelope.
South Eastern University of Kenya
On the other hand, SEKU advertised vacancies for seven academic cadres under its Division of Academic, Research and Innovation.
The positions include:
- Senior Lecturer in Sociology.
- Anthropology and Community Development.
- Agriculture and Agricultural Sciences.
- Private Law.
- Anthropology and Sociology’
- Public Health and Nursing Sciences.
- And a Lecturer position in Civil, Construction and Environmental Engineering.
The university has set roles, including criminology and social justice, agricultural economics, hospitality, statistics and epidemiology, and community health nursing.
Applicants should apply before 29.09.2026.

Bomet University
Bomet University is also recruiting staff members in the categories of academic and non-academic positions, and applications are invited from suitably qualified persons before the closing date of 28 September 2026.
Vacant positions are eight academic posts that include:
- Senior Lecturer in ICT.
- Lecturers in Agricultural Extension and Education.
- Educational Foundations.
- GIS and Remote Sensing.
- Kiswahili.
- Accounting.
- Communication and Economics.
- 17 administrative posts of Deputy Registrars, auditors, Assistant Registrar, and Human Resources.
- Administrative Assistant.
- Security Officer.
- Computer Technologist.
- Research Assistants.
- Library Assistant.
- Clerical Officer.
- Driver and Office Assistant.
Those interested should send their applications by email to recruitment3@bu.ac.k and submit a hard copy to the Deputy Vice Chancellor (Administration and Finance), Bomet University, P.O. Box 701-20400, Bomet.
All applicants should attach their Curriculum Vitae, academic certificates, testimonials, Chapter Six clearance certificates, and three referees’ contacts.
Foreign qualifications must be certified by the Commission for University Education.
The job is Permanent and Pensionable after Six Months’ probation.
