Gospel Artist and Pastor Vincent Onyango Dies in Road Accident

Gospel artist and pastor Vincent Onyango has reportedly died in a road accident at Kyumvi, Machakos, while travelling from Mombasa to Nairobi.

According to reports, the 43-year-old singer, known for gospel songs including Kaburi ni Tajiri and Wanadamu ni Walewale, died on Tuesday night after the vehicle he was travelling in collided head-on with a lorry.

Onyango was travelling alone when the crash occurred. Reports indicate that the impact of the head-on collision claimed the life of the gospel artist, cutting short a music career that had seen him reach Christian audiences across the country.

The 43-year-old gospel artist, popularly known for his music, “Kaburi ni Tajiri,” and “Wanadamu ni Walewale,”  lost his life when his car collided head-on with a lorry at Kyumvi in Machakos while travelling from Mombasa to Nairobi on Tuesday night.” 

Vincent Onyango Father Also Dies on the Same Night

In a further tragedy for the family, Onyango’s father also reportedly died on the same night.

The deaths of the father and son on the same night have left their family facing a double loss, with messages of condolence being shared by mourners on social media.

Ohh God, this is so sad. May his soul and that of his dad rest in peace.”

Meanwhile, Kenyans have remembered Onyango for his contribution to gospel music.

One Kenyan expressed shock at the deaths of Onyango and his father, praying that their souls would rest in peace.

Another described losing both father and son on the same night as heartbreaking and prayed for God to comfort and strengthen Onyango’s six children and the wider family.

Poleni sana, may the Almighty God grant the family the strength, the courage & the fortitude to continue enduring the pain & loss! May their colossal spirits rest in Eternal peace,” Duncan Mwiti wrote on X.

Others also sent messages of condolence, remembering Onyango’s music career and praying for his family as they come to terms with the double loss.
