Police Recover Government Stores, Copper Wire and AP Uniforms After Raiding Estate

Police in Isinya, Kajiado County, are pursuing suspects after recovering government stores, copper wire, and Administration Police (AP) uniforms during an operation in Majengo Estate.

In a statement dated September 17, the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) said officers conducted the operation after receiving actionable intelligence about the suspected activities of a group in the area.

The officers reportedly rushed to a hideout in Majengo Estate, where suspects were allegedly burning copper wire to strip off its insulation.

However, the suspects reportedly fled before the officers could arrest them.

“Law enforcement officers from Isinya, Kajiado County, have recovered government stores and copper wire following a well-coordinated operation. Acting on actionable intelligence, the officers rushed to the suspects’ hideout in Majengo Estate, where they were reportedly burning copper wire to strip off its insulation. But before the officers could close in, the suspects vanished,” DCI stated.

Police Recover AP Uniforms and Equipment

Following the suspects’ escape, officers searched one of the houses associated with them and recovered an assortment of Administration Police uniforms.

According to the DCI, the items included an AP beret, shirt, jungle jacket, trousers and a maroon belt.

Police also recovered several tools and other items during the operation, including pliers, tin snips, solar equipment and copper wire, among other assorted items.

Meanwhile, the suspects remain at large as detectives continue with investigations into the recovered items and the activities allegedly linked to the group.

The DCI said detectives from Isinya have taken charge of the investigations and are pursuing leads to identify and apprehend those involved.

Investigators are also seeking to recover additional property suspected to have been stolen and establish the full extent of the alleged criminal operation.

DCI Seeks Help to Trace a Wanted Suspect Accused of Defrauding Canada Job Applicants

Elsewhere, the DCI has asked the public to help trace Elizaphan Mayenga Michira, who is wanted on allegations of obtaining money by false pretences.

Michira is accused of targeting job seekers with promises of employment and travel opportunities in Canada, with some applicants allegedly paying large sums after being assured that he could facilitate their relocation.

The suspect is said to have offered several types of jobs, including positions as nurse aides, storekeepers and truck drivers.

Investigators are now seeking information that could lead to his arrest as they work to establish the full extent of the alleged fraud.
