KNCHR Re-Advertises CEO Position with October 6 Application Deadline

The Kenya National Commission on Human Rights (KNCHR) has re-advertised its Commission Secretary/Chief Executive Officer position, giving interested candidates a fresh deadline of October 6, 2026, to submit their applications.
In a notice issued on Thursday, September 17, KNCHR indicated that applications must reach the commission by 5:00 p.m. EAT on Tuesday, October 6.
KNCHR Sets Requirements
The commission is seeking a Kenyan citizen with the qualifications and experience required to serve as its Commission Secretary and CEO.
Under Section 21 of the Kenya National Commission on Human Rights Act, applicants must hold a degree from a university recognised in Kenya and have at least 10 years of proven management-level experience.
Candidates must also meet the requirements set out under Chapter Six of the Constitution.
Applicants must submit a signed application letter, a detailed curriculum vitae with contact details for at least three referees, certified copies of academic and professional certificates, and a valid identification document.
Applications must also include copies of relevant statutory clearance certificates. Candidates should address their applications to the Chairperson of KNCHR.

KNCHR has directed applicants to submit their applications through the KNCHR Recruitment Portal: https://recruitment.org/ using the vacancy reference “COMMISSION SECRETARY/CHIEF EXECUTIVE OFFICER”

The position carries a five-year contract, renewable, and is based in Nairobi, with the office holder reporting to the Chairperson of KNCHR.
Applicants have until 5:00 p.m. on October 6 to complete the process, extending the recruitment timeline from the September 22 deadline contained in the previous advertisement.
