Public uproar has erupted after a Somali content creator was hit by a bus while filming content at the Muthaiga underpass.
The teenage boy was rushed to the hospital and pronounced clinically dead due to serious injuries sustained from the accident.
In a viral video circulated online on November 25, 2025,” the boy was seen attempting a risky challenge involving dodging oncoming cars.
The Somali boy walked a few metres towards the direction the bus was coming from, gave a high five to his colleague, they were shooting the content together, and turned his body to the direction the bus was moving to, and was hit by the bus.
Nevin4, one of X users, shifted the blame to the bus driver for hitting the boy intentionally, to justify the boy’s being on the wrong side of the street.
“How dare the driver just see a juvenile boy misbehaving and knock him to justify that the boy was on the wrong side. This needs investigation! K,” Nevin4 wrote on X.

Another X influencer, Muzalendo, said a similar incident happened near Starehe Boys, where young people line up along the road to make TikTok content.
Muzalendo added that it is dangerous for content creators and motorists along that road and called out authorities to act swiftly and intervene in the matter.
“Every evening from 5 pm, young people line up near Starehe Boys making TikTok content right on the road. This is extremely dangerous for them and for motorists. Authorities should act before a serious accident happens, roads are not filming studios,” Muzalendo said.
