Police have neutralized suspected terrorists who were attempting to cross the border, securing the area and preventing a potential security threat.
In a statement on Sunday, November 30, the Counter Terrorism Policing (CTP) said the special teams manning the border neutralized the militants.
CTP said Kenyan security officers are superior and will always win against the enemies.
“A group of terrorists attempted to infiltrate our border. Our Special teams manning our border taught them a lesson. Our superior firepower and committed officers will always win against the enemies of our nation,” CTP said.
This comes weeks after the Elite Special Operations Group (SOG) prevented another attempted terrorist attack.
In a statement on October 27, CTP said SOG stopped Alshabaab terrorists who were attempting to set up Improvised Explosive Devices (IEDS) at the Welmerer-Yumbia area in Garissa
“Elite Special Operations Group (SOG) stopped 8 Alshabaab terrorists who were attempting to set up Improvised Explosive Devices (IEDS) at the Welmerer-Yumbia area in Garissa,” CTP said.
CTP explained that the SOG swiftly responded to information reported by the local community that 8 terrorists had been spotted attempting to set up IEDS.

The elite officers recovered several assembled IEDS that the militants were planning to use to attack Kenyans during the operation.
“The Brave officers engaged the terrorists and managed to recover assembled IEDS, which were to be used to attack our mothers, children, and security officers using the Welmerer-Yumbis road. The SOG appreciates the cooperation of the local community and other stakeholders and urges for enhanced vigilance to stop any terror plots,” CTP said.
