How to Update Your HELB M-Pesa Number or Bank Details 

The Higher Education Loans Board (HELB) has advised students to make payments via its app and portal.

According to HELB, this will enable beneficiaries to update their M-Pesa details and bank account numbers before funds are disbursed.

The officials guide students to log in to the HELB Portal or App. Students need to log in to their HELB student portal or mobile app using their details.

HELB indicates students should log in using their national ID/phone number and password.

From there, you go to Profile or Account Settings, where students should proceed to their profile, account settings or personal details sections.

Step-by-Step Process

The board asks students to “Select Payment Details Update“, after you select the “M-Pesa Number Update” or “Bank Account Number Update” option from the menu.

The board has instructed students to enter new details; however, students are warned not to enter the wrong new details of their M-Pesa number or their bank account number, as this will cause delays in fund disbursement.

Verify the Changes is the next step, as students have to confirm all changes with an OTP that is sent to their registered contact.

The board has advised students to confirm using the one-time password sent to their registered phone number or email.

Students are urged to “Submit and Save”.

HELB Student Information Updates

HELB requests students to submit updated details and ensure they receive a confirmation message after submission. It states, “Submit the updated information and ensure you receive a confirmation message from HELB.”

Students are required to wait for approval where necessary, as HELB may take time to verify and update the changes.

The board provides a seven-step process for updating payment information and urges students not to delay their updates to avoid possible delays in fund disbursement.

HELB also advises students to ensure that all information provided is accurate.

It adds that students must follow the prescribed steps for making changes, and notifications will be sent once the updates are successfully reflected.
