The Kenya Leather Development Council (KLDC) has launched a continuous call for local and international investors to develop and operate facilities at the Kenya Leather Industrial Park (KLIP), a 100-acre project in Kinanie, Machakos County.
The initiative is aimed at attracting investment across the leather value chain as Kenya seeks to position itself as a regional hub for leather and leather products manufacturing under the government’s Bottom-Up Economic Transformation Agenda (BETA).
In a statement dated July 29, the council said the investor application process will remain open, and applications will be evaluated on a rolling basis, subject to the availability of investment spaces within the industrial park.
“The Kenya Leather Development Council (KLDC) is seeking investors who will develop, equip and operationalize Kenya Leather Industrial Park,” read part of the statement.
