Kenya Reinsurance Corporation Eyes Tanzania, Rwanda Growth With New Office Tenders

Kenya Reinsurance Corporation Limited (Kenya Re) has invited eligible firms to submit bids for the leasing of office premises in Tanzania and Rwanda as part of its regional expansion plans.

In a notice dated July 20, Kenya Re announced three international procurement opportunities, including the leasing of office space for its subsidiary offices in Dar es Salaam, Tanzania, and Kigali, Rwanda, as well as consultancy services for the establishment of a liaison office in Kigali.

The corporation added that the tenders will be opened on August 11, 2026, at 12:00 p.m. East African Time.

 “Kenya Reinsurance Corporation Limited invites sealed tenders from eligible candidates for the following items as detailed in the respective tender documents,” read part of the notice.

Kenya Re Invites Bids for New Regional Offices

The corporation stated that completed tender documents must be submitted in accordance with the requirements outlined in the invitation to tender.

Additionally, Kenya Re said the bids will be opened on the same day at its boardroom in the presence of bidders or their authorised representatives who choose to attend, adding that any tenders submitted after the stipulated deadline will be rejected.

The corporation directed bidders to quote prices in the currency specified in the tender documents.

It further stated that all quoted prices must include applicable government taxes and remain valid for 120 days from the tender closing date.

“Prices quoted MUST be expressed in the currency indicated in the invitation to tender and must be inclusive of all applicable Government taxes and should remain valid for a period of 120 days from the closing date of the tender,” read part of the notice.

Bidders Asked to Submit Company Details

Kenya Re also instructed firms downloading the tender documents from its website to immediately submit their company particulars via the procurement email address provided in the notice.

The information should include the firm’s name, postal address, telephone number, email address, tender number and tender name.

The corporation further said the details will be used for record-keeping and to communicate any clarifications or addenda issued during the procurement process.

Meanwhile, Kenya Re cautioned prospective bidders against canvassing or providing false information, warning that doing so would result in automatic disqualification from the procurement process.

“Any canvassing or giving of false information will lead to automatic disqualification,” Kenya Re stated.
