Man Leaves Behind Sad Letter After Killing His Family and Committing Suicide

Residents of Riamute Village in Githunguri, Kiambu County, are struggling to come to terms with a tragic incident in which a man, identified as Kennedy Kamau Kabaiko, allegedly killed his wife and young son before taking his own life.
According to reports, Kamau left behind a handwritten letter detailing the personal struggles he had been facing before the incident.
The three bodies were discovered on the morning following the incident.

In the letter, Kabaiko addressed several family members and friends, apologizing for his actions and expressing regret over the pain he believed he had caused.
He claimed that his troubles began after a 2024 road accident on Thika Road involving him and his brother. While he survived the accident with injuries, his brother reportedly died.
According to the letter, Kamau felt blamed by some family members for his brother’s death.
He also claimed that remarks allegedly made by his late brother’s children deeply affected him emotionally.
The letter further indicated that he had been planning to seek employment abroad to start a new chapter in his life, but felt overwhelmed by his circumstances.

Blames Family and Friends for the Killing
Kamau expressed appreciation to people who had supported him and apologized to those he felt he had disappointed.

He also mentioned money allegedly held in a savings account and gave instructions for how he wished it to be distributed among family members and community welfare groups.

However, authorities have yet to issue a communication regarding this matter, but an investigation is ongoing to investigate the circumstances surrounding the deaths and verify the authenticity of the letter.
