Mosiria Defends Obinna Amid Backlash After Stoopid Boy’s Death

Chief Officer for Citizen Engagement and Customer Service for the Nairobi City County Government, Geoffrey Mosiria, has defended comedian and media personality Oga Obinna amid growing criticism following the death of Arbantone artiste Stoopid Boy.

Mosiria urged Kenyans to stop attacking Obinna and allow him time to mourn the late artiste, saying people should not blame him without evidence.

“To those attacking Obinna, please allow him to mourn Stoopid Boy in peace. This is a difficult moment, and everyone deserves space to grieve and process their loss,” Mosiria said.

He also urged Obinna to address the criticism he is facing online and explain his side of the story.

“Obinna, come out and clear your name because the online trolling has become too much,” Mosiria said.

Mosiria acknowledged that Obinna had previously helped and mentored several celebrities, including Stoopid Boy, and said his involvement with artistes who later faced difficulties should not automatically make him responsible for what happened.

He urged the public to avoid concluding without evidence, especially during a difficult period following the artiste’s death.

Mosiria Advises Obinna to Seek God

Beyond the online criticism, Mosiria advised Obinna to seek God’s guidance and return to church as he deals with the situation.

He encouraged the comedian to reflect on his life, make peace with people he may have differed with and seek forgiveness.

“We all need God’s grace, forgiveness, and direction in our lives. Repent, seek peace, and allow healing to take place during this difficult time,” Mosiria said.

Mosiria also advised Obinna to be cautious about how some of his actions and public associations are interpreted by people online, saying the intense scrutiny could be causing him further distress.

Obinna’s Relationship With Stoopid Boy

Obinna had previously supported Stoopid Boy during his battle with addiction and was involved in efforts to help the artiste seek rehabilitation.

Following Stoopid Boy’s death, some social media users questioned Obinna’s relationship with the late artiste and criticised his involvement in his life.

Mosiria, however, said such criticism should not be used to assign blame without evidence.

He noted that people who try to help individuals struggling with addiction cannot always control what happens to them.

Mosiria urged Obinna to speak out about his efforts to help Stoopid Boy and allow the public to understand his side of the story.

He also called for peace and healing following the artiste’s death.
