Nairobi Metropolitan Area Transport Authority Announces 15 Job Vacancies and Requirements

The Nairobi Metropolitan Area Transport Authority (NaMATA) has announced 15 job vacancies for suitably qualified Kenyans as it seeks to strengthen its workforce across key departments.
According to a notice dated September 8, the positions include senior management roles in infrastructure development, network management, legal services, human resources, supply chain management, and corporate policy, research, and strategy.
NaMATA is a State Corporation established under the Nairobi Metropolitan Area Transport Authority Order, responsible for planning, regulating, and coordinating the provision of an adequate and effective Mass Rapid Transit System (MRTS) within the Nairobi Metropolitan Area.
Details of the Vacancies
According to the notice, the vacancies comprise four Deputy Director positions and five Assistant Director positions, with some positions having more than one opening.

Nairobi Metropolitan Area Transport Authority Qualifications and Clearance Requirements
NaMATA said detailed job profiles, specifications, and person qualifications have been provided for each position on the Authority’s website at www.namata.go.ke.
Successful applicants will also be required to meet the requirements of Chapter Six of the Constitution of Kenya on leadership and integrity.

They will also be required to obtain and submit valid clearance certificates from the relevant institutions, including:
- Kenya Revenue Authority (KRA) Individual Tax Compliance Certificate.
- Higher Education Loans Board (HELB) clearance.
- Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) Certificate of Good Conduct.
- An approved Credit Reference Bureau (CRB) clearance.
Applicants are advised to review the specific qualifications and requirements for their preferred positions before submitting their applications.
How to Apply
Candidates who meet the requirements have been instructed to submit their applications to the Chairman, Nairobi Metropolitan Area Transport Authority (NaMATA) before September 15, 2026, at 12:00 noon.

They are therefore encouraged to submit their applications early to avoid missing the deadline.
Applications should include an updated CV containing Daytime contact details, Current salary and expected salary, Notice period required to take up the appointment, and names and contacts of three referees.

The authority stated that applicants must also attach copies of their academic and professional certificates or testimonials, as well as a copy of their National ID or Passport.
NaMATA stated that the terms of service and remuneration for successful candidates will be as outlined in the respective job profiles.
The Board will determine the salary and other benefits, guided by the State Corporations Advisory Committee (SCAC) and in consultation with the Salaries and Remuneration Commission (SRC).
