“Nilikuwa Naenda Kuwatch Tv… Nikakaa Miaka Sita”: Lady’s Shocking Confession Leaves Kenyans Talking

Share

A lady has left Kenyans amused after narrating how a simple visit to watch TV at a neighbour’s house turned into a six-year stay. She shared the experience during an interview on Breaking Gossip, and the clip has quickly gained traction on Facebook.

At the start, she did not think much of it. However, her child had already formed a connection with the man, Njoro, before she even understood what was happening. This raised questions and slowly drew her closer to him.

“Kidogo kidogo ndio nikapatana tena na msee uyo anaitwa Njoro… Mimi mtoto akipotea naenda kumtafuta kwa mabeshte zangu, nikirudi napata mtoto asharudi… Namuliza, unatoka wapi na hii kitu yenye unakula umeitoa wapi? Anasema ni baba ameninunulia,” the lady narrated.

At first, she suspected the child’s biological father. So, she wanted to confront him and harass him at a bar, trying to understand his intentions. However, that confrontation only left her more confused. Soon after, she made a discovery that changed everything.

A Chance Encounter at the Gate

One day, while standing at the gate with takeaway food after searching for her child, she spotted the child approaching with a man on a motorbike. That moment gave her clarity and marked the beginning of their interaction.

“Mtoto akakuja kama ameniita ‘mum’ na akanihug… Aliniuliza aje, ‘Sasa kumbe wewe ndio mama ya aka katoto? Aki uko na katoto kazuri.’ And that is how tulianzana na jamaa,” she narrated.

TV Visits Turn Into Routine

From there, things moved quickly. At first, she only visited occasionally. However, one thing stood out: he had a TV, something she did not have at home. Because of that, she found herself spending more time there than she had planned.

“Nikaenda kwake nikapatana na TV… kwetu hakukuanga na TV… nikawatch kipindi ya kwanza, ya pili, akaambia kuna ingine kali nikangojea… ata nililala apo kwa kiti, sijui nikihamishwa kwa kitanda,” she added.

Curfew Changes Everything

Then came the COVID-19 period. Movement became difficult, especially at night. As a result, she started waiting out curfew hours at his place. What began as a temporary solution slowly turned into a routine.

“Nilingojea curfew, nikalala nikakuliwa nikashinda… nilikuwa naenda kwangu jioni tena narudi nikaambiwa ‘kuja uwatch Selina’… mpaka wa leo sasa sai ndio curfew iliisha. Ilikuwa miaka sita nikingojea curfew iishe,” she said.

As the story spread online, many Kenyans reacted with humour and disbelief. Some saw it as a slow and unplanned relocation rather than being stuck.

“Hii si kukwama, hii ni kuhamia pole pole without notice,” Mary Wanjiku wrote.

Curfew Excuse Raises Eyebrows

At the same time, others questioned her explanation about the curfew. They pointed out the timeline and joked about how long it really lasted.

“Curfew ilimalizika 2021 lakini yeye bado ako apo hadi 2026, kweli TV ilikuwa tamu,” Brian Otieno commented.

Meanwhile, some users focused on the entertainment factor. They argued that the shows she mentioned played a big role in keeping her there.

“Selina na makoho zilimfanya asahau nyumba yake kabisa, hii ni next level commitment,” Sharon Akinyi noted.

Njoro’s “Strategy”

On the other hand, a few users looked at the situation from Njoro’s perspective. They suggested he may have used a clever approach to keep her around.

“Njoro alitumia TV kama bait, strategy ilikuwa on point san,” Kevin Mwangi joked.

Finally, some took a reflective angle. They pointed out how small choices can lead to unexpected life changes.

“Hii story imenichekesha sana, lakini pia inaonyesha vile vitu kidogo zinaweza change maisha,” Linet Chebet added.

Overall, the clip continues to trend as more people weigh in, with many amused by how a simple plan to watch TV turned into a six-year chapter.
