NSE Appoints New Share Registrar to Enhance Shareholder Services

The Nairobi Securities Exchange (NSE) has announced the appointment of Image Registrars Limited as its new share registrar, replacing EFS Registrars Limited in a move aimed at improving services offered to shareholders. 

In a notice dated August 6, the exchange said the appointment took effect on August 1, 2026, with Image Registrars assuming responsibility for all registrar-related services. 

“The Nairobi Securities Exchange PLC (“NSE” or the “Company”) wishes to inform its shareholders, investors and the general public that the Company has appointed Image Registrars Limited as its Share Registrar, replacing EFS Registrars Limited,” read part of the notice.

NSE Directs Shareholders to Image Registrars 

The NSE said the transition has been carefully planned to ensure uninterrupted service for shareholders while improving the management of shareholder records.

According to the exchange, Image Registrars Limited will handle share transfers, transmission of shares, updates to shareholder records, dividend-related enquiries and other general shareholder services.

The NSE also advised shareholders to direct all future enquiries and requests relating to these services to Image Registrars Limited.

“All shareholder enquiries and requests should henceforth be directed to: Image Registrars Limited , 5th Floor, Absa Towers (formerly Barclays Plaza) Loita Street P.O. Box 9287-00100 GPO Nairobi, Kenya , Telephone: +254 709 170 000/+254 735 565 666″

In addition, the exchange assured investors that the appointment of a new share registrar will not affect their investments or ownership rights.

Exchange Promises Smooth Transition to New Share Registrar 

The NSE further said shareholders will retain their existing shareholdings, entitlements and other rights despite the administrative change.

Additionally, the exchange noted that the transition has been designed to minimise disruption while maintaining continuity in service delivery.

The Board of Directors of the Nairobi Securities Exchange said it remains committed to providing efficient and high-quality registrar services to shareholders and other stakeholders.

It also appreciated shareholders for their continued support and expressed confidence that Image Registrars Limited would enhance the delivery of shareholder services under the new arrangement.

“The Board of Directors of the Nairobi Securities Exchange PLC appreciates the continued support of its shareholders and stakeholders and looks forward to the continued provision of efficient and high-quality registrar services,” read part of the notice.
