Nyeri County Announces 148 Jobs: Requirements and How to Apply

The County Government of Nyeri has announced 148 job vacancies across several departments, opening opportunities for qualified Kenyans in health, agriculture, livestock, aquaculture, finance, economic planning and ICT.
Through the Nyeri County Public Service Board, the county is recruiting candidates for 32 job categories, with the health sector accounting for most of the advertised positions.
The recruitment covers medical specialists, nurses, clinical officers, laboratory personnel, public health professionals, administrative officers, technical workers and support staff.
Notably, Registered Nurse III has the highest number of openings, with 59 positions available as the county seeks to strengthen its healthcare workforce.
Medical Services and Public Health Jobs at Nyeri County Public Service Board
The Department of Medical Services and Public Health accounts for the bulk of the vacancies. Applicants can apply for the following positions:
- Medical Laboratory Technologist III – 7 posts
- Radiographer III – 3 posts
- Senior Assistant Director of Medical Services/Medical Specialist I – Human Pathologist – 1 post
- Health Records and Information Management Assistant III – 3 posts
- Assistant Health Records and Information Management Officer III – 3 posts
- Health Records and Information Management Officer III – 3 posts
- Support Staff – 8 posts
- Charge Hand/Artisans – 2 posts
- Human Resource Officer III – 2 posts
- Health Administrative Officer – 2 posts
- Registered Clinical Officer (Anaesthetist) III – 3 posts
- Registered Clinical Officer III – 3 posts
- Clinical Officer I – 2 posts
- Assistant Public Health Officer III – 7 posts
- Public Health Officer III – 3 posts
- Medical Officer I – 4 posts
- Registered Nurse III – 59 posts
- Nursing Officer I – 5 posts
- Dental Officer I – 1 post
- Orthopaedic Technologist III – 2 posts
- Orthopaedic Trauma Technician – 2 posts
- Pharmaceutical Technologist III – 2 posts
- Community Oral Health Officer III – 2 posts
- Nutrition and Dietetics Technologist III – 5 posts
- Assistant Physiotherapist III – 2 posts
- Records Management Officer III – 2 posts
- Assistant Occupational Therapist III – 2 posts
Most of these positions come with permanent and pensionable terms, giving successful candidates long-term employment within the county government.

Agriculture, Livestock and Aquaculture Jobs
Meanwhile, the Department of Agriculture, Livestock and Aquaculture has opened two positions for qualified applicants:
- Inspector (Agriculture) – 1 post
- Plant Mechanical III – 1 post
Finance and Re-Advertised Positions
Elsewhere, the Department of Finance, Economic Planning and ICT has advertised two openings for Accountant I.
In addition, the board has re-advertised four positions for Registered Nurse III (Peri-Operative) and one position for Senior Assistant Director of Medical Services/Radiologist.
The re-advertised positions are:
- Senior Assistant Director of Medical Services/Radiologist – 1 post
- Registered Nurse III (Peri-Operative) – 4 posts
Unlike most of the vacancies, the Senior Assistant Director of Medical Services/Radiologist position is available on contract terms. The remaining positions are offered on permanent and pensionable terms.

How to Apply
Prospective applicants should complete the official Employment Form and submit it together with copies of their academic and professional certificates and testimonials.
Applicants can download the form from the Nyeri County Government website: www.nyeri.go.ke or obtain it from the Nyeri County Public Service Board offices.
After completing the forms, candidates can deliver their applications by hand or through the post office. The board must receive all applications on or before September 29, 2026, at 5.00 p.m.

At the same time, the board has cautioned applicants against paying money or attempting to influence the recruitment process.
“The county has stated that only short-listed candidates will be contacted. Applicants have also been warned not to pay any fee at any stage of the recruitment process,” it stated.
