In June 2025, then-Chief Executive Officer Marion Gathoga-Mwangi announced her planned exit from the company, citing personal reasons.
She had joined Standard Group in the third quarter of 2023, meaning her tenure as CEO lasted less than two years.
Her departure came shortly after the company reported a Ksh1.1 billion loss before tax for the year ended December 2024, compared with a Ksh723 million loss in 2023.
The Group’s revenue also fell by 23 % to Ksh1.8 billion, which it attributed to reduced advertising and partnership activity, lower government contracts, and declining engagement with legacy media platforms.
