Universities Offering BSc Computer Science With Low Cluster Points

As students and parents prepare for the 2026 university admissions, KUCCPS data from 2018 to 2024 shows that pursuing a Bachelor of Science in Computer Science can still be accessible in several higher learning institutions.

While programs at top universities like the University of Nairobi and JKUAT often require higher cluster points, several reputable institutions now admit students with scores of 30 and below.

Universities Offering BSc Computer Science for 30 and Below Cluster Points

An analysis of the past seven years of KUCCPS placement trends has identified 27 universities where Computer Science is attainable with an average cluster point of 30 or lower. These include a mix of established public and private universities, as well as specialised university colleges.

About KUCCPS

The Kenya Universities and Colleges Central Placement Service (KUCCPS) is a government agency established to coordinate the placement of students into higher learning institutions under government sponsorship

The Placement Service portal for 2026/2027 university and college placement is scheduled to open in March 2026.

Key functions of KUCCPS  include:

  • Coordinating the selection and placement of government-sponsored students to universities, colleges, teacher training colleges, national polytechnics, TVET institutions, and other accredited training institutions.

  • Disseminating information on available programmes, their costs, admission requirements, and areas of study prioritized by the government.
  • Collecting, retaining, and managing data related to student placements in universities and colleges.
  • Advising the government on matters concerning student placement, higher education access, and related policies.
