The Kenya Revenue Authority (KRA) Customer Care account on X (formerly Twitter) sparked widespread reactions after posting a cryptic message saying “Manifesting Kwaheri Kenya,” before deleting it and posting another humorous follow-up.
The tweet, which appeared on the official @KRACare account, quickly caught the attention of Kenyans online, triggering speculation, jokes, and memes across the platform.
At around 5:23 p.m. UTC on March9,2026, the official KRA customer care account posted a message in Swahili and Sheng that read:
“Wamedelete lakini bado Kwaheri Kenya kwani ni kesho🤣🤣.”
The phrase loosely translates to “They deleted it, but still goodbye Kenya because it’s tomorrow.”
Although the tweet was later deleted, screenshots had already begun circulating widely.
Within a short time, the post had attracted over 637 comments, 1.2K retweets, 5.1K likes, and about 449,000 views.

KRA did not immediately issue a clarification regarding the unusual post.
The message quickly became a trending topic, with Kenyans reacting with humor, confusion, and speculation about what may have happened behind the scenes.
Some users joked that even the tax authority appeared frustrated with the country.
One user, @Timoshenko, wrote:
“Even KRA is tired of Kenya.”
Another user, @Mavela, questioned the unusual tone of the message, saying:
“That KRA account admin must be high on our taxes coz wtf is he tweeting?”
Others suggested the account might have been compromised.
@MUHAMMAD_ONYANGO commented:
“Hahaha unaweza pata that KRA Twitter page has been hacked and their password was KRA@2026. In all situations I keep observing.”
Meanwhile, @Solutions raised concerns about account security, writing:
“How can this account be hacked twice? It must be easy to loot those taxes!”
While some questioned whether the account had been hacked, many Kenyans simply turned the moment into comedy.
@Macharia_Njanja jokingly warned the account administrator:
“We got a date tomorrow at Ruiru Police Station.”
Another user, @Flo, expressed amusement at the mysterious admin behind the tweet.
“Lol I’m a big fan of whoever you are. Is this a crash out?”
Others even teased that the social media administrator might have been frustrated over unpaid wages.
“It’s like they delayed the Admin’s salary,” wrote @Toxic.
In another playful reply to the tweet, @Mr_Guantai said:
“While we are here, tweet Wantam!!”

For now, the mysterious “Manifesting Kwaheri Kenya” tweet has become the latest viral moment on Kenyan social media with users continuing to debate whether it was a hack, a mistake, or simply an admin having a moment online.
