National Cancer Institute Announces Vacancies for 10 Senior Positions v

The National Cancer Institute of Kenya has announced multiple vacant job positions across its departments as part of efforts to strengthen cancer prevention and control operations across the country.

In a public notice dated April 21 2026, the institute invited applications from qualified candidates for ten vacant positions, including senior leadership, technical, administrative, and support roles.

The vacancies include Director of Cancer Prevention and Control on contract terms and three deputy director roles in Internal Audit, Finance and Accounts, and Legal Services on permanent and pensionable terms.

Other advertised positions include Assistant Director, Cancer Prevention and Control, Principal Cancer Prevention and Control Officer, and ICT Officer.

A Total Of 10 Vacancies Advertised

A Records Management Officer, Cancer Prevention and Control Officer II, and Assistant Office Administrator are also needed.

Each position has one vacancy available.

According to the notice by NCI, the recruitment is part of the institute’s statutory mandate under the Cancer Prevention and Control Act No. 15 of 2012, which established NCI Kenya to coordinate and centralize cancer prevention and control programmes across the country.

NCI plays a key role in policy coordination, stakeholder engagement, and strengthening national cancer response systems.

Application Requirements

Applicants are required to submit a letter of application indicating the vacancy number, a current curriculum vitae with contact details, three professional reference letters with contacts, and certified copies of academic certificates and transcripts.

Applications must be submitted electronically through the institute’s recruitment email address; hard copy submissions will not be accepted.

Application Deadline

The application deadline has been set for May 11, 2026, not later than 5:00 pm East African Time.

Shortlisted candidates will be required to obtain clearance certificates from the Kenya Revenue Authority, Higher Education Loans Board, Ethics and Anti-Corruption Commission, Directorate of Criminal Investigation, and a Credit Reference Bureau.
