Former Cabinet Secretary Moses Kuria claims that most people associated with the DCP faction are unhappy with President William Ruto and even more dissatisfied with Rigathi Gachagua.
Speaking in an interview with Citizen TV, former Cabinet Secretary Moses Kuria said he frequently meets members of the DCP faction, who confide that about 70 percent of them are dissatisfied with the current leadership.
He stated that while President William Ruto also receives criticism, many within the group are more bitter towards Rigathi Gachagua.
Kuria further alleged that those running the faction are driven by money and often pressure other leaders within the group.
“70% of DCP people talk to me; they don’t like William Ruto. There is only one guy they hate more than William Ruto, Rigathi Gachagua, his own people,” Kuria said.

Kuria claimed that the group’s politics is transactional and that the leaders often ask for money to give their backing.
He went ahead to give an example of a leader who supposedly coughed up millions of Kenyan shillings for local political endorsement from a figure within this faction, but failed to produce any proof.

The leader further alleges that behind the scenes, there is what he calls a dictatorial element in place controlling proceedings in DCP, and this is done subtly without public knowledge.
He, however, goes ahead to say that the differences in rival camps, including the Orange Democratic Party, are nothing compared to what is going on now.
“You should see the things they tell us behind the scenes, huyu mtu ni dictator, he is asking for money. Whatever appears to be vicious within ODM and broad-based, it is an issue, and it may affect, but they are a child’s game compared to what is coming within the one term. Fasten your seat belts and grab some popcorn,” Kuria added.
