Seven Arrested Over Kariobangi North PCEA Church

The National Police Service (NPS) confirmed that seven suspects linked to the Kariobangi North PCEA Church disturbances on November 30, 2025, have been arrested.

In a press statement released on December 2nd, 2025, NPS said the suspects were all arrested within the Lucky Summer area.

They have been convicted and are waiting to be arraigned in a court of law.

“The National Police Service (NPS) confirms the arrest of seven suspects linked to the Kariobangi North PCEA Church disturbances on Sunday, November 30. The seven, all arrested within the Lucky Summer area, are being processed for appearance before a court of law. Further arrests are expected upon the completion of investigations, including photographic and acoustic analysis reports,” read part notice.

Names of the Suspects

After police launched manhunt following the incident, the following suspects have been arrested.

1. Charles Otieno Opiyo

2. Wilson Okoth alias M.C. Otieno

3. Michael Mutunga Kavulunze

4. Brian Omondi Odhiambo alias “Bryo”

5. Reggy Opiyo Otwole

6. Elisha Otieno Ochieng

7. Gordon Odhiambo Onyango

NPS Message to Kenyans

However, the Commission urged Kenyans who have any information that could boost the police investigation to come forward and present it at the nearest police station.

“The National Police Service continues to beseech Kenyans to work collaboratively with the police for the good of all. We further ask anyone who may have witnessed, or has any information regarding, the abhorrent incident last Sunday to contact the nearest police station, any law enforcement officer, or use the toll-free numbers: 999, 112, or #FichuaKwaDCI (0800 722 203) or WhatsApp number 0709 570 000,” NPS added.

The Service reaffirmed its commitment to dealing with all forms of criminality and ensuring safety for all citizens.

What Happened at Kariobangi North PCEA Church

On November 30th, chaos erupted near Kariobangi North PCEA Church premises after a group of rowdy youths disrupted the church service attended by former Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua.

Gachagua attended the church service after the locals elected Wanyoike Warui of the Democracy for the Citizens Party (DCP) as the Member of County Assembly (MCA) of the area in the just concluded by-elections.
