Mombasa Governor and Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) Deputy Party leader Abdullswamad Sheriff Nassir has announced the party’s next move after the 2027 general elections.
Speaking during the burial of Beryl Achieng Odinga in Bondo on December 6th, Nassir said ODM will either be part of the government or form the government.
The governor added that ODM was not only made to stay in opposition, citing that it is one of the largest political parties in Kenya.
“Come 2027, two things are there, we are either going to be forming government or we are going to be part of the government and it is nothing new,” Nassir declared.

“Come 2027, two things will happen we will not be in opposition anymore, teargas was not born for the people of ODM alone we will stay with the principles of what we were taught by that put the country first before anything else avoid those who will be able to speak on languages of dividing this country on tribal lines or regionally basis,” Mombasa Governor stated.
He added, “The strength of the person depends on his character, not necessarily the mother tongue in which he can speak.”
